The stills of the upcoming movie “Hero” has been released, showing Kim Go Eun’s character as a court lady
On November 10th, the upcoming movie “Hero” (directed by Yoon Je Gyun), released character stills of Seolhee, played by actress Kim Go Eun.
In the movie, Kim Go Eun assumes the role of Seolhee, the last court lady of Joseon. In order to avenge the nation’s fate, she transforms into an informant for the independence army and approaches Hirobumi Ito to carry out her mission.
From singing, performing, to saying lines in Japanese, Kim Go Eun perfectly delivered her character. She also prepared thoroughly, took vocal lessons before filming, and thus is expected to express Seolhee’s complex inner side with delicate acting.
Director Yoon Je Gyun also praised the actress, saying, “Kim Go Eun showed amazing acting and singing at every moment to the extent that no direction was needed.“
“Hero” is a film adaptation from a musical of the same name. It depicts the story of Korean activist An Jung Eun, who fights for the Korean Independence movement.
The movie is the first one to be directed by Yoon Je Gyun after eight years. The director previously achieved the first two million box office hits in Korea with “Haeundae” and “Ode to My Father”.
On the other hand, “Hero” is scheduled to be released in December.
