International artists simultaneously ended their contracts with HYBE America
Over the past week, the media has been buzzing with reports of international artists leaving Ithaca Holdings, the management company led by Scooter Braun. Currently, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, and Carly Rae Jepsen have all decided not to renew their contracts with the company.
This recent wave of departures has raised eyebrows and sparked discussions within the entertainment industry. The exodus of such high-profile artists from Ithaca Holdings, known for its association with Scooter Braun, is undoubtedly significant.
Notably, in 2021, HYBE acquired Ithaca Holdings. The South Korean entertainment powerhouse, also the parent company of BTS, made a significant investment of 1.7 trillion KRW for the acquisition, which included not only Ithaca Holdings but also the Scooter Braun Project and the Big Machine Label Group.
