“I’ve endured it for over 30 years” Veteran actor Ryu Seung Soo brings up a sad story

Ryu Seung Soo revealed that he suffered from panic disorder and depression.

Ryu Seung Soo posted new photos on his Instagram on October 5th, saying, “I have suffered from panic disorder, anxiety disorder, and depression for over 30 years.”

He continued, “Among medications and other treatments, exercise is the best. Exercise is like medicine. Everyone, you should start exercising too. Instead of exercising when you have time, take time to exercise.” 

The released photos show Ryu Seung Soo working out hard at the gym. His strong forearms make netizens wonder how much Ryu Seung Soo has been spending time doing workouts.

Netizens left comments under Ryu Seung Soo’s post such as: “I hope you take good care of your health”, “Exercise is definitely good for depression”, “I hope you always cheer up. Actors Kim Jung Soo and Kim Ho Young also left messages of support for Ryu Seung Soo.

Previously, Ryu Seung Soo confessed that he was suffering from panic disorder in SBS’s “Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny,” which aired in 2018.

At that time, the psychiatrist in charge of his counseling said, “Ryu Seung Soo underwent a really hard time from 2008 to 2015. He was constrained by his daily life because of panic disorder, so he blamed himself. There was a period of time when he didn’t leave the house and did nothing.”

Ryu Seung Soo is a veteran actor who started his acting career with the movie “Trio” in 1997. Since then, he has appeared in films such as “Hi! Dharma!”, “Battlefield Heroes”, “6/45”, SBS drama “Deep-rooted Tree”, KBS 2TV dramas “Winter Sonata”, and “Bloody Heart”.
