(G)I-DLE Soyeon will make her solo debut in June, will she achieve the same success as CL?

Always seen as a “young version” of CL since her debut, can (G)I-DLE Soyeon achieve the same success as the former leader of 2NE1 with her solo debut?

On May 21, Korean media unexpectedly stated that (G)I-DLE’s leader will return to the Kpop race in June as a solo artist. Cube, Jeon Soyeon’s management company, has also confirmed that she is in the final stages of preparation.

Soyeon (G)I-DLE has proven her talent and bold personality via reality shows like Produce 101 season 1 and Unpretty Rapstar 3. Her remarkable rap talents, good vocals, and professional performance have earned the female singer the title of (G)I-DLE’s ACE. Soyeon has been compared to a “younger version” of CL after debuting as a solo artist with the MV Jelly.

There’s no need to shout out “Power” or “Brave” like CL, but Soyeon still radiates the aura and vibe of 2NE1’s leader. Cube Entertainment has picked her to enhance the group’s fame because of her public familiarity and indisputable talent.

Some fans left comments:

  • If Soyeon claimed to be the #2 female rapper in Kpop, no one would dare to accept the #1!
  • Soyeon is amazing but I hope this solo comeback doesn’t have as many raps as Jelly.
  • I hope she has a successful solo.
  • She is the new generation queen!
