(G)I-DLE Soyeon reveals “‘Queencard” takes inspiration from the movie “I Feel Pretty”

Soyeon, a producer and member of girl group (G)I-DLE, explains the concept behind the group’s latest title “Queencard”.

At 4PM (KST) on May 15th, the press conference for (G)I-DLE’s 6th mini-album “I FEEL” was held at The Great Hall of Joseon Palace Hotel on Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Here, Soyeon, a producer and member of the group, said, “In the past, I made a lot of music that taught lessons, but this time, I tried to add more light, comical, and fun elements. I was inspired by the movie ‘I Feel Pretty’, and created a work with a light and fun feeling, but leaves a lingering impression at the end. I hope you watch it lightly.”

She also mentioned, “I tried to create it like a comedy movie and portrayed it as a drama-like music video. Also, because the Y2K trend is popular these days, I tried to bring back the music drama format that was popular in the 2000s”, adding, “It’s a picture often seen in high teen movies, but we agreed to express ‘twenty’. We tried to depict the concerns and daily life of people in their twenties.”

On the other hand, (G)I-DLE’s 6th mini album “I FEEL”, which has exceeded 1.1 million pre-orders, includes a total of 6 songs including the title song “Queencard”.

As self-producing idols, (G)I-DLE members participated in writing and composing all the songs. It was released on various music sites at 6 PM (KST) on May 15th.
