BTS Jimin and Jungkook entered the military together on Dec 12th. Fellow members J-Hope and Suga accompanied them to the site
Jimin and Jungkook enlisted at the 5th Infantry Division’s recruit training center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do on this day. After receiving basic military training, they are scheduled to serve as active-duty soldiers in the army.
J-Hope, who started military service first, and Suga, currently serving as a public service worker, provided support on-site. A group photo of Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope and Suga together was uploaded on BTS’s official SNS account, capturing fans’ attention.
Jin, who participated in the 7-member gathering at the army training center the previous day, could not be present to send them off as his vacation period ended. Jin is currently serving as an assistant instructor at the 5th Infantry Division’s recruit training center, so it is expected that he will reunite with Jimin and Jungkook within the base.
Jimin, who enlisted on this day, confessed in the live broadcast conducted through the fan platform Weverse the day before, “After cutting my hair, it feels like I’m really enlisting in the military. I’ll do my best to return quickly so that we can all perform together. I think I’ll depend on Jungkook a lot when joining the army. I’ll do well together with Jungkook.”
Jungkook held a Weverse live broadcast in the early morning on the day of his enlistment. He shared, “My heart feels complicated. I’ll do well. Now, all BTS members will be serving in the military. Thank you so much for your support. I’ll miss you. I hope everyone stays healthy.”
BTS took a hiatus from full-group activities after Jin’s enlistment in December last year. J-Hope, who enlisted in April this year, is serving as an assistant instructor at the 36th Infantry Division’s recruit training center, and Suga has been serving as a public service worker since September. The expected completion date for the military service obligation of all BTS members is June 2025.
