AleXa sees major popularity growth after becoming the first K-pop star to win American Song Contest 

AleXa is expanding her global coverage after winning ASC. Her songs are being played around the world, and the number of fans across races and genders is rapidly increasing.

On May 10, AleXa was crowned the first-ever K-pop artist to win NBC’s large scale singing competition program ‘American Song Contest (ASC)’, beating famous pop artists Michael Bolton and Yam Haus. AleXa’s historic win was reported by major foreign media outlets and has attracted a lot of attention both domestically and internationally. It was an opportunity to broaden the scope of K-pop and left a significant mark of K-pop on the global music industry.

AleXa is proving her global influence with clear figures worthy of the title of ‘ASC’ winner. In addition to the recent surge in the number of followers on various SNS platforms, global interest in her winning song ‘Wonderland’ at ‘ASC’ is also soaring. The number of streams ‘Wonderland’ recorded on Spotify, the world’s largest music platform, exceeded 4 million. The number of AleXa monthly listeners also rose by 240,000, a 53% growth rate, compared to three months ago.

AleXa’s songs were constantly played on radio broadcasts from around the world. AleXa’s songs were reportedly played on 177 radio stations in 64 cities in 19 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Singapore, Brazil and Indonesia. A total of 2,505 plays were counted in just three months from March to May 2022.

Various SNS accounts of AleXa such as Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook saw a significant increase in the number of followers from the time of ‘ASC’ broadcast. Her Instagram has increased by about 80,000 followers and she has gained more than 50,000 YouTube subscribers as of June compared to March. The total number of views on her channel also recorded more than 7.3 million, confirming the rising interest in AleXa. 

The increase in AleXa’s fan base is striking. The surge of female fans, led by Generation Z, is especially remarkable. White women living in English-speaking countries make up the majority of AleXa’s fan base.  

AleXa is captivating the world with her irresistible charms by showing the essence of powerful K-pop performances. Expectations are high for her future activities on a global scale. For now, AleXa will continue to promote ‘Wonderland’ both in Korea and overseas.
