aespa’s NingNing accused of lip-syncing at MAMA due to her expressions when doing the high note
Controversy over aespa’s lip-syncing has not ended on social media.

Some are even questioning aespa’s stage at the “MAMA 2021” after discovering some of NingNing’s not-very-convincing high-note parts.
To the netizens, NingNing’s mouth shape and expression during the high note showed that aespa was lipsyncing. Usually, before a hard high note, one needs to prepare by taking one breath in. However, NingNing seemed very relaxed and only opened up her mouth a little bit, but the sound still sounds exactly like a recorded AR. This strange detail makes the netizens hard to believe that this was a live stage.
Since their debut, aespa has been known as one of the girl groups with the best vocal skills among the 4th generation groups. Thus, fans find it difficult to understand why SM lets aespa lip-sync at a big award ceremony like MAMA.
