Jin Kyung (born in 1972) has established herself as an actress who mainly takes on bold and straightforward roles.
Jin Kyung made her debut through the 1998 play “Secret Royal Inspector Park Mun-su” and the 2000 film “Virgin Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors”. In the past, she was unable to pursue an acting career due to her parents’ strong opposition.
After having a hard time negotiating with her parents, she finished her master’s degree at Korea National University of Arts and debuted at the late age of 29. She often played middle-aged women, career women and mothers, so it gave her the image of being married.
However, Jin Kyung drew attention by honestly talking about her marital status in an entertainment show.
She shared, “I actually was married once. However, when you look online, it says I’ve never married.”
She confessed, “At the end of an interview in the past, a reporter asked me, ‘Do you have any plans for marriage?’ I replied, ‘I don’t have any plans.’ But the reporter wrote, ‘Still unmarried with no plans for marriage.’”
She added, “I didn’t lie, but I was misunderstood. I thought there was no reason for me to say that I was divorced.”
