Actress Jeon Do Yeon revealed that she hopes viewers can always look forward to her acting performance.
Jeon Do Yeon will guest on the new episode of tvN’s entertainment program “You Quiz on the Block” (hereinafter referred to as “You Quiz”) on March 29th.
Ahead of the official broadcast, “You Quiz” combined several scenes and released a preview video of Jeon Do Yeon on March 26th.
In the video, MC Yoo Jae Suk stood up from his seat and greeted Jeon Do Yeon, “Oh my friend”. Yoo Jae Suk and Jeon Do Yeon were from the same Class of 1991 at the Seoul Institute of the Arts.
Yoo Jae Suk said, “I think this is our first time doing a broadcast together. Was the last time we met at the car wash?”, and Jeon Do Yeon responded, “I greeted you first”. Yoo Jae Suk recalled and said, “We were definitely talking casually back then. I think you called me ‘Jae Suk ah’ first.”
Jeon Do Yeon then talked about her impression of Yoo Jae Suk when they met each other for the first time at school, saying “I thought you were the grasshopper in ‘The Ant and The Grasshopper.”
Photos of Jeon Do Yeon from her Cyworld days were revealed. Yoo Jae Suk pointed to one of the photos prepared by the production team and commented, “This photo looks like your appearance when you were in school the most.” Jeon Do Yeon says, “I don’t like putting on makeup. I like my bare face and my natural look”. With a serious tone, she added, “I looked so pretty when I was young”, drawing laughter.
When Yoo Jae-suk asked, “You’ve been active in the entertainment industry for 32 years, have there been any changes?”, Jeon Do Yeon confessed, “I didn’t change but the way people look at me seems to have changed”. The actress continued, “People say, ‘How can an actress in her 50s act in a romantic comedy like ‘Crash Course in Romance’?’, I think I wouldn’t have chosen the drama if I had been aware of such criticism”, adding “I told myself, ‘No one can point a finger at me and criticize me’.”
As soon as Jeon Do Yeon finished her words, Yoo Jae Suk said, “Talking about Jeon Do Yeon, I always think of this one thing. That’s your confidence”. In response, the actress said, “There’s no reason to not be confident”, adding “If any opportunity comes to me now, I want to try it without hesitation. I want to be an actress whom viewers can keep looking forward to.”
