WINNER dished on their full-group comeback after 817 days ft. Song Mino’s surprise remark, “It’s fun to earn money”
WINNER revealed their honest thoughts at their comeback press conference.
On July 5th, ahead of the release of WINNER‘s 4th mini album ‘HOLIDAY’, a press conference was held at YG Entertainment’s headquarters in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
After a 817-day hiatus since the release of their 3rd full album ‘Remember’ in 2020, WINNER finally made a comeback with ‘Holiday’. This album is even more meaningful as it marks the return of members Kim Jinwoo and Lee Seunghoon after their military discharge.
On this day, WINNER members expressed their excitement and joy at their new album after a long time. Kang Seungyoon, who focused on his solo activities during the hyung line’s enlistment, said, “I feel happy. It is different from the happiness I felt while working as a soloist.”
Song Mino, who received much love for his appearance in a number of entertainment TV shows and solo music, said that he wanted to show his presence as a WINNER member rather than individually. He added, “For this album, we focused on showing the unchanging fresh and bright energy of WINNER in our 9th year of debut.”
Lee Seunghoon expressed WINNER’s goals, saying, “Of course, with this album, we want to win 1st place. We prepared a lot to get better results than the previous album. I gathered with the members every month to have a meeting and we put a lot of effort into it. I want to get good results.”
He then shouted, “We don’t do music as a hobby. YG also has a reason to spend hundreds of millions of won on us,” bringing laughter to the conference.
Song Mino even added a frank remark, “It’s fun to earn money.” In response, Kang Seungyoon hurriedly chimed in, “We don’t care much about results. We will work happily.” The host, announcer Kim Hwan, then said, “Only YG officials can’t laugh.“
WINNER’s latest title track ‘I LOVE YOU’ is a song that honestly expresses the excitement of falling in love. It is filled with WINNER’s uniquely bright vibes and energetic sensibility.
In addition, ‘I LOVE YOU’ stands out for its disco-style dance and key choreography that anyone can easily follow. Kang Seungyoon and Song Minho participated in writing the lyrics and composing to enhance the song’s authenticity and perfection.
WINNER’s 4th mini album ‘Holiday’ was released on various online music streaming platforms at 6 pm KST on July 5th.
