Netizens are having a heated debate on the acceptance speeches of actor Jung Hae-in, Han Hyo-joo, singer Kang Daniel and comedian Lee Yong-jin.

The 1st Blue Dragon Series Awards was held at Paradise City Hotel in Jung-gu, Incheon on July 19th. Jung Hae-in, Han Hyo-joo, Kang Daniel, Lee Yong-jin, Jae-chan, and Park Seo-ham won the “Tirtir Popular Star Award”.

The winners Jung Hae-in, Han Hyo-joo, Kang Daniel took the stage and shared: “To be honest, I don’t know what ‘Tirtir’ is. Since it’s a Popularity Award, I will think of it as something good and receive this award” (Jung Hae-in), “Thank you so much. It’s called ‘Tirtir Popular Star Award’ but it’s really a popularity award, right?, “I think the name of this award is so cute. Since it’s called ‘Tirtir’, I’ll try to show you more diverse and better sides of me” (Kang Daniel), “I actually didn’t get the correct name of the award and called it ‘Turkids Awards’ because I thought they used the name of my program” (Lee Yong-jin).

Later, Jung Hae-in had an interview and he apologized, “I was a little flustered earlier when I suddenly got the Popularity Star Award. I didn’t expect that. I kept wondering about ‘Tirtir’ so I did search for it. CEO-nim, I’m really sorry. Please show a lot of love for ‘Tirtir’. I felt so uncomfortable. I’m so sorry.”

MCs Jeon Hyun-moo and Yoona comforted Jung Hae-in, saying “Seems like you’ve been thinking about it for a while. Since you mentioned it again, many people will like it”.

After the awards ceremony, the CEO of Tirtir even posted a photo of Jung Hae-in on Instagram and said, “Thank you. You’re the best”.

However, netizens who watched the event complained, “The winners just said things they didn’t have to say”. Others commented, “Why did they say that?”, “The brand would feel bad when they said they didn’t know what it was”, “They were quite rude”, etc.

On the other hand, many Internet users left their opinions defending the winners, saying “It feels like an advertisement since everyone were laughing and the CEO even thanked them”, “It was the organizers’ fault that they didn’t tell them in advance”, “Jung Hae-in’s apology turned out to be so funny, like an advertisement”, “There’s nothing to be angry at”, etc.
