In response, Big Hit Music, BTS’ agency, said on Oct 17th,Jin will apply for the cancellation of his enlistment postponement at the end of this month and follow the enlistment process of the Military Manpower Administration.”

Initially, Jin’s enlistment had been postponed until the end of this year after being recommended by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism under the revised Military Service Act in 2020.

However, Jin, the oldest member of BTS, who was born in 1992 and is 31 this year, and Suga, who was born in 1993, have no choice in this.

Under the current military service law, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps applications are possible up to the age of 28, and only Army enlistment is possible if one is over the age of 29.

J-Hope and RM, who were born in 1994 and are 29 years old this year, can only apply for the Army if they join the military next year.

In this case, Jin will join the Army’s Nonsan Training Center or boot camp as an active soldier from the end of this year or early next year.

First of all, the timing of Jin’s enlistment varies depending on when he will submit the cancellation request. Usually, one will receive a notice of enlistment within three months after submitting a cancellation application, depending on the number of people on the waiting list.
