The reason why the photo of BTS V and BLACKPINK Jennie’s video call shocked so many people.
On August 2nd, a video titled “The reason why I got goosebumps at Jennie ♥ V’s video call photo leak” was uploaded on the Youtube channel of former entertainment reporter Lee Jin-ho.
Earlier on the same day, new private photos of BTS’s V and BLACKPINK’s Jennie were leaked. The pictures show Jennie receiving a forehead kiss from a man believed to be V and V making a video call with a woman believed to be Jennie. In addition, a screenshot of a list of several dating photos was also released.
Regarding this, Lee Jin-ho personally disclosed the opinions of a security expert and pointed out two worrisome problems related to the leaked photos. Accordingly, the security expert said, “Looking at the file name, they look like original files, not photos transmitted through Kakao Talk. But if the original files were taken away like that, the cell phone that stored those pictures might have been hacked”, adding “If you capture a picture on the screen with a cell phone, you can also get a screenshot. The cell phone can be the hacker’s phone or an unused phone. The pictures were displayed on the screen then took them with another camera.”
They added, “That’s the way the hacker avoided being tracked. It is because the location information and traces can be found when people analyze the picture. I think the hacker tried to prevent such a risk”, adding “Therefore, I think the original files have been revealed.”
The security expert said, “I don’t think the hacker brought the original files to his Mac then screenshotted his Mac screen. In fact, he captured the Mac screen using another device”, adding “ The reason is that… first, you can find both sides of the picture look slightly dark. If you look at the left and right corner parts, they are a little darker than the middle part. That’s because of the pixels, which indicates that the photo was taken with another device.”
In particular, the security expert pointed out, “There is a high possibility that the original cell phone was hacked”, adding “If the cell phone itself is controlled by the hacker, he can turn on the microphone and listen to what the phone’s owner does on their phone in real-time and who the phone’s owner is talking to even when they’re offline. What scares me the most is that the hacker can literally do all of those things.”
In addition, he pointed out the video call photo and shocked many people as he revealed, “You can take screenshots like that by yourself but such photos can also come out exactly the same way if the hacker captures the screen while monitoring the phone activities”.
Meanwhile, V and Jennie’s agencies have not expressed any positions regarding the incident, which is intensifying and increasing fans’ frustration. In this regard, Lee Jin-ho said, “The agencies may be coping with related content in their own ways”, adding “They seem to be more cautious because if they confirm the romantic relationship of the two stars, they may unintentionally encourage the hacker to reveal more. Both agencies’ decision to remain silent on the hacker’s actions is understandable”.
