Writer Kim Eun Sook revealed the secret of the shoes Lim Ji Yeon wore in “The Glory”.

In the commentary video of Netflix Korea’s “The Glory“, which was released on Jan 6th, Lim Ji Yeon and writer Kim Eun Sook revealed the story related to Yeon Jin (played by Lim Ji Yeon)‘s green shoes.

Netflix’s series “The Glory” (written by Kim Eun Sook, directed by Ahn Gil Ho) tells the story of a woman who puts an elaborate revenge scheme in motion to make the perpetrators pay for their crimes years after surviving horrific abuse in high school.

Lim Ji Yeon said, “To Yeon Jin, her daughter Ye Sol was an extension of herself. She always protected herself. She never wanted to be at the bottom, but Dong Eun kept messing with Ye Sol, who was an extension of her.“

Writer Kim Eun Sook explained, “As we added details like her genetic color blindness, we chose green shoes since red is too common.“

Writer Kim went on to say, “Many people asked me about the meaning behind these green shoes. Not everything a writer writes has a hidden meaning.“

Writer Kim Eun Sook added, “I chose green because it suited the personal color of the top of Yeon Jin’s feet. (laugh) The shoes had a secret, didn’t it? Yeon Jin goes to the back and scrubs it clean, right? It isn’t easy for anyone to look good in those shoes. I chose those shoes because I thought Yeon Jin would look good in them.“
