Actor Song Kang-ho’s first drama “Uncle Samsik”, which has attracted attention from the production stage, is likely to be broadcast on Disney+
According to OSEN on Nov 21st, “Uncle Samsik” is currently undergoing final negotiations for airing on Disney+.
Although a contract with Disney+ has not been signed yet, it is reported that there is currently no possibility of the drama being broadcast on terrestrial, cable or satellite broadcasting stations.
With a production cost of 40 billion won, “Uncle Samsik” is set to be released on an OTT platform. While Netflix and Disney+ have shown interest, it has been confirmed that Disney+ is the most likely platform.
“Uncle Samsik” (written and directed by Shin Yeon-shik) is a 10-episode drama that depicts the passionate desire and bromance between Uncle Samsik (Song Kang-ho) who “ate three meals a day even during the war” and super-elite Kim San (Byun Yo-han), who write a story of love, trust, or doubt.
The drama features talented actors such as Song Kang-ho, Byun Yo-han, Lee Kyu-hyung, Seo Hyun-woo and Jin Ki-joo.
Originally scheduled to air in the second half of 2023, the final confirmation of the schedule is still pending.
