Actress Song Hye Kyo, who was accused of “being afraid to look bad”, now bravely embraces a new on-screen styling.
While not yet released, Song Hye Kyo’s upcoming drama “The Glory” has been hotly discussed. So far, the revenge series draws attention for Song Hye Kyo’s appearance and acting, especially now that the actress has entered her 40s. In particular, in recent years, Song Hye Kyo was said to be “obsessed” with her beauty, to the point of fearing looking less than stellar on the screen and during promotions. In a press conference for “The Glory”, the actress was even accused of having her press photos edited to look younger, drawing mixed responses.
Meanwhile, instead of sticking to her usual “beautiful girl” roles, Song Hye Kyo is boasting a completely different image in “Glory”, leading to intense attention.
Now, teasers and still cuts of “The Glory” have been released, giving the audience a glimpse into Song Hye Kyo’s new transformation. Surprisingly, instead of wearing stylish clothes and flaunting perfect hair like in the rest of her works, “The Glory” Song Hye Kyo keeps it simple. It seems that her experience with school violence has jaded the actress’ character, leading to her only keeping to herself, looking exhausted and vengeful. In various scenes, she also appeared in bare face and in the simplest, perhaps even raggish clothes.
Hopefully, Song Hye Kyo’s return with “The Glory” will prove her critics wrong and break the negative assumption surrounding her. Centered around the topic of revenge, the drama is expected to deliver mind-blowing acting sequences from Song Hye Kyo, as well as an image never seen before from her.
