‘SM TOWN WONDERLAND) 2022’ is a private Halloween party for the artists of SM Entertainment. As an event that presents high-quality Halloween makeup of famous K-pop idols and artists from SM, it has attracted great attention from global fans every year. The event was scheduled to be held face-to-face for the first time in four years since the Covid-19 pandemic and broadcast live for fans.

However, it has been canceled due to the stampede disaster that happened in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul on October 29th. In particular, too many people flocked to Itaewon in the heated atmosphere ahead of Halloween, which resulted in casualties. According to Yonhap News, there have been 149 deaths and 76 injuries as of 6 a.m today (October 30th). Fire authorities have set up a reception center to find missing people at Hannam-dong Community in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and are checking for further damage.
