Ryu Jun-yeol wins Best Actor at the 43rd Golden Cinematography Awards

Actor Ryu Jun-yeol received the Best Actor award at the 43rd Golden Cinematography Awards for his role in the movie “The Night Owl”

At the 43rd Golden Cinematography Awards held on Oct 19th, Ryu Jun-yeol was honored with the Best Actor award. He said, “It’s been a year since ‘The Night Owl’ was released. I’m thankful for the love and blessings from the audience. I haven’t had the chance to express my gratitude before, but I want to take this opportunity to thank Director Ahn Tae-jin, Director of Photography Kim Tae-kyung and Lighting Director Hong Seung-chul. Even though it’s a difficult time for Korean cinema, I hope we can overcome it along with the Golden Cinematography Awards and continue to receive love from the audience.”

In “The Night Owl”, Ryu Jun-yeol portrayed the character “Kyung-soo”, a blind acupuncturist who witnesses the death of the crown prince. He led the success and critical acclaim of “The Night Owl” by completing the intriguing character with his talent.

Ryu Jun-yeol previously won Best Actor – Film at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards in April for his role in “The Night Owl”. He also received the Best Actor award at the 43rd Korean Association of Film Critics Awards in September. With his latest victory at the Golden Cinematography Awards, Ryu Jun-yeol achieved the honor of winning the Best Actor award 3 times this year.

Ryu Jun-yeol’s movie “Alienoid Part 2” (directed by Choi Dong-hoon) is set to be released in theaters soon.
