Netflix’s new Korean original series “Chicken Nugget” has faced huge likes and dislikes since its release. According to SpoTV News on March 19th, the drama ‘Chicken Nugget’, which was first released on Netflix on March 15th, is attracting keen attention, ranking first in Netflix Korea’s viewing rankings.

At the same time, on various online communities, the drama is receiving both favorable reviews and harsh criticisms. In particular, in the case of harsh criticism, some netizens criticized the drama as “The intention of producing the work is unknown.”

“Chicken Nugget” is a comic drama about daughter Min-ah (Kim Yoo-jung) who entered a mysterious machine and turned into a chicken nugget, so her father Sun-man (Ryu Seung-ryong) and Baek Joong (Ahn Jae-hong) who has a crush on her tried to find ways to turn her back.

The drama had the “B-class” gag concept based on the absurd weighty material that was not previously seen in Korea. In addition, director Lee Byung-hun, who have been recognized for his prominent directing skills through “Extreme Job” and “Twenty,” showed his unique style of sarcastic characters in this production.

According to Hankyoreh, director Lee Byung-hun admitted himself that the dramais strange, saying, “I thought it would be a success if the likes and dislikes were divided. It is a challenging work.”

However, many Internet users applauded Netflix’s new attempt, leaving comments such as “I enjoyed watching it,” “Experimental work,” “It’s new to see a drama of this genre in Korea,” “Developing K-Contents,” and “They need to make more of such works.”
