Shinhwa Jeon Jin was depicted meeting his biological mother for the first time in 21 years in SBS entertainment show “Same Bed Different Dreams Season 2,” which was aired on January 25th last year.

Earlier, Jeon Jin had visited his biological mother 20 years ago, but at the time, he cut off contact and no longer interacted with her because he was afraid that his biological mother’s young son would be confused. Then, after watching the broadcast of “Same Bed Different Dreams Season 2”, his biological mother contacted him, and he then talked to his mother through a dramatic phone call.

Jeon Jin’s hands were shaking due to his tension while waiting for his real mother to answer the phone. When she said, “Hello?” Jeon Jin hung up because he was nervous. His mother then called again, and Jeon Jin sobbed when she said, “Is that Choongjae?” Jeon Jin said after, “Isn’t it natural that a child wants to see his mother?” and added, “I have too much to say.” Jeon Jin then confessed, “I recognized that she was my mother right at her first word. I felt all the feelings of joy and sadness at once.”

Just before going to meet his biological mother, his wife Ryu Yi-seo wondered, “When I first met him, he said he fell in love with me at first sight because I reminded him of his mother, but I wonder if it was just his way to seduce me, right?” Confused, Jeon Jin said, “Did I do that?” and added, “As I was going to meet my mom, I felt like all the pain in my heart was disappearing.” After meeting his biological mother, Jeon Jin said, “We talked about countless things. I felt like I was feeling like that for the first time as we were talking.”

On this day, rapper Iron (Jung Heon-cheol) was found dead at the age of 29.

At 10:25 a.m., Iron was seen bleeding in an apartment flowerbed in Jung-gu, Seoul, and a security guard found him and reported it to the police. Iron was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead.

Iron appeared in Season 3 of Mnet’s ‘Show Me the Money‘, which aired in 2014, and took the runner-up place. He received attention as he was recognized for his unique rap skills, and officially began his activities by releasing “Blue” in March of the following year.

However, since ‘Show Me the Money 3’, Iron has been at the center of controversy, with various gossip rather than music. In 2016, after being investigated by the police for smoking marijuana (violating the Substances Control Act, etc.), he was turned over to the prosecution and charged without detention.  After three months, he released a new song, and his unrepentant move angered netizens.

In addition, in 2018, Iron was charged with harming and intimidating his ex-girlfriend, A. At the time, Iron was accused of smashing A in the face, injuring her with a knife. In a subsequent trial, the court sentenced Iron to eight months in prison with a two-year probation and 80 hours of community service.

In December 2020, Iron was arrested by the police on charges of assaulting his roommate B – a high school student who was learning music from him with a baseball bat (special injury). At the time of the arrest, Iron is said to have explained that “it was for discipline.”
