Hallyu star Kim Jae-joong appeared on a recent broadcast of Japanese Nihon TV’s entertainment program “오늘 밤 비교해보았습니다” and talked about the house with a total area of 150 pyeong (a Korean unit of area), one basement, and three ground floors he gave to his parents as a gift.
“I considered a lot about health issues since this is the place where my parents live”, Kim Jae-joong added, “I have 8 older sisters. My parents had worked really hard to raise all their children, so I wanted to give them this house as a gift”.
In response, the MCs said, “The price of this house is 500 million yen (about 6.2 billion won)”, expressing their admiration.
Accordingly, Kim Jae-joong bought the land then came up with interior ideas himself. He even took care of the front door design so that his parents could sit comfortably while wearing shoes. In addition, he also installed an elevator. The house is also equipped with a large bathtub and a sauna for his mother.
Kim Jae-joong explained, “I didn’t have my own room when I was young. My family members slept together in the living room. Perhaps that’s why I have been greedy for houses since I was young”.
On the same day, Kim Jae-joong also unveiled his current house that includes two large living rooms of over 10 pyeong, a showroom-like dressing room, and a dining room with a set of tables worth 50 million won. The house is about 80 pyeong in total. In addition, Kim Jae-joong is known to own real estate not only in Korea but also in foreign countries, such as the Seoul Forest Trimage, a luxury apartment located in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, a building in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, and a six-story building located in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.
