The story of Kang Ho Dong’s refusal to host the wedding of Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In is drawing a lot of attention recently.
On March 3rd, actor Son Ji Chang, who is responsible for overseeing Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In’s wedding, shared some behind-the-scenes stories about the organization process with Ilgan Sports. It is known that Son Ji Chang is close to Lee Da In‘s mother, veteran actress Kyeon Mi Ri.
In particular, Son Ji Chang revealed that “national MC” Kang Ho Dong was asked to attend the wedding, but declined under the claim that “Weddings are awkward”. Kang Ho Dong and Lee Seung Gi have maintained a special relationship, having appeared together on various programs such as KBS 2TV’s “2 Days & 1 Night Season 1,” SBS’s “X-Man,” “Strong Heart,” and tvN’s “New Journey to the West”. However, instead of attending, Kang Ho Dong decided to congratulate Lee Seung Gi in his own way.
Meanwhile, in place of Kang Ho Dong, another “National MC”, Yoo Jae Suk, will serve as the host for Lee Seung Gi’s wedding. It is known that Yoo Jae Suk has worked with Lee Seung Gi on shows such as “Busted!”.
Lee Seung Gi previously expressed his respect for the two national MCs in an interview with Newsen, describing Yoo Jae Suk as someone he wants to emulate, and Kang Ho Dong as a gracious and generous person.
Apart from Yoo Jae Suk, who is in charge of the 1st part, broadcaster Lee Soo Geon will host the 2nd part of Lee Seung Gi’s wedding, while singer Lee Juck is scheduled to sing the celebratory song.
Meanwhile, Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In are set to hold their grand wedding ceremony on April 7th at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas Hotel in Samsung-dong, Seoul.
