When asked about the reason for casting IU in his first time working on a Korean movie, director Hirokazu Koreeda said at the press conference held on May 10th, “I fell in love with the Hallyu wave drama while staying at home due to the pandemic. I became a big fan of IU after watching ‘My Mister’. In the second half of ‘My Mister,’ I kept crying at IU’s scenes. I thought no one could play this character but her.”

“Broker” is scheduled to be released in cinemas on June 8th.
