H1-KEY’s reaction to ranking 3rd after NewJeans and BLACKPINK in February’s brand reputation thanks to viral song

Girl group H1-KEY (Seoi, Riina, Hwiseo, and Yel) filled “Choi Hwa Jung Power Time” with their positive energy.

On February 21st, H1-KEY appeared on SBS Power FM’s radio show “Choi Hwa Jung Power Time” as a guest.

H1-KEY’s new song “Rose Blossom” is going viral in Korea and rising on the charts. When Choi Hwa Jung asked, “Do you check the music charts every day?“, H1-KEY members laughed, saying, “Slightly.


When Choi Hwa Jung wondered, “Who is the member checking the charts most diligently?” Seoi said, “Hwiseo was the first to know the news because she checked faster than the other members.”

Riina said, “At first, it ranked lower than now. It was because we weren’t a well-known group, but the song went viral and the ranking rose noticeably, so I’m checking (the ranking) every day.”

The members also revealed their first impressions of the song. Hwiseo recalled, “When I just heard the title, I thought of a red rose on gray cement. The original tempo was slower, so I thought about how to revive it with our performance. The song was so good that Riina clapped her hands.”


In response to the question, “Wasn’t it upsetting when there was no reaction to the song compared to your expectations?” Riina said, “Rather than expecting a lot, we prepared a lot, so we prepared hard until the end.”

H1-KEY ranked 3rd in February’s girl group brand reputation, following New Jeans in 1st place and BLACKPINK in 2nd place. Riina smiled brightly, saying, “I was so surprised and checked again to see if we really ranked 3rd place.”

When asked about their happiest moment, Seoi said, “When we performed on music shows, I was happiest at that time because I was moved to hear the fans cheering.”
