BTS J-Hope is first member to run solo activities following BTS’s suspension of group activities

BTS recently announced an indefinite suspension of group activities, with individual schedules starting with J-Hope.

On June 14th, famous Kpop boy group BTS revealed their plan to temporarily halt activities as a group and focus on individual schedules in their YouTube video “2022 The Real BTS Dinner Party”, streamed on the channel BANGTANTV.

In addition, the group also revealed J-Hope to be the first runner with his own solo album In particular, J-Hope said: ”While I’m the first, everyone is preparing for a solo album. I think that the starting point is important”. To which, RM added: “I think it will be an official album, not a mixtape.”

Prior to his solo album, J-Hope will appear as a solo act for the first time in the music festival LOLLAPALOOZA, where his name is listed as a headliner. 

On June 8th, J-Hope posted on Instagram that: “LOLLAPALOOZA will be my first solo performance. It’s a great challenge for me, and I think it’s a part of history that will be remembered greatly in my music activities. I’ll show you a nice stage, so let’s go crazy.”

Earlier, LOLLAPALOOZA announced on its official SNS that J-Hope will be on its stage on July 31st (local time). On the last day of the festival, J-Hope will decorate the finale of the festival as a headliner.

LOLLAPALOOZA is an annual large outdoor music festival held in Chicago, Illinois, USA, and is a 30-year-old festival featuring leading global top stars such as Paul McCartney, Metallica, and Coldplay. This year, the festival will be held at Grand Park in Chicago for a total of four days from July 28th to 31st.

“J-Hope will make a new performance history as the first Korean artist to decorate the main stage at a major music festival in the United States,” LOLLAPALOOZA said.

As such, J-Hope, who is the first member of BTS to announce his full-fledged solo career, will show off his abilities without hesitation.

J-Hope, who has participated in many BTS songs since his debut, released his first solo mixtape “Hope World” in 2018, and dropped his solo self-composed song “Dis-ease” in 2020, is drawing attention from all over the world.
