Upon debut, BLACKPINK Jisoo was continuously pitted against her group members and called a talentless visual. But now, she has proven the haters wrong.
Throughout her career, Jisoo has left a deep impression and attained a huge impact in various realms, from music, fashion, acting, to hosting. And this August, Jisoo has once again delivered good news.
Recently, an update from director Jo Sang Woo, who is behind the box office hit “Veteran” and is in producing a second installment, got BLACKPINK fans extremely excited. In particular, the director uploaded an Instagram story, presumed to be a photo of Jisoo, raising questions if he’s going to work with the idol-actress in an upcoming project
Previously, Jisoo has delivered a stunning performance in her first leading acting project – the K-drama “Snowdrop”. Therefore, expectations for her future works are rising higher than ever.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK just dropped their pre-release single “Pink Venom” along with a stunning MV. Here, Jisoo stands out with her scenes and parts alike.
In particular, Jisoo appeared like a princess, dressed in a hanbok-inspired gown and playing the traditional Korean instrument geomungo. The gown, which adopts many iconic cultural elements, belongs to the 2022 Fall collection of Korean brand Miss Sohee, and fits Jisoo to a T. Some netizens even comment it was Jisoo’s visual that further complements the Korean elements of the dress.
After the MV release, BLACKPINK members then published their dance challenge videos for the song. On the video platform YouTube Shorts, Jisoo’s video recorded the highest view count among BLACKPINK members, proving her strong stage presence. In particular, her video has surpassed 43 million views and over 2.9 million likes within 3 days of release.
In the past, Jisoo used to be called a “choreography hole”, as netizens commented that she was lacking in dance compared to the rest of BLACKPINK. However, in the practice video for “Pink Venom”, Jisoo has shown vast improvements, and proves herself as a capable dancer.
Prior to the release of “Pink Venom”, Jisoo also delivered quite a visual feast through her photoshoot with the September issue of Marie Claire magazine. The cover of Marie Claire, which features Jisoo, was released on August 16th, marking the 2nd time Jisoo decorated a cover for the September issue – the most important issue of the year.
