More than 1700 people infuriated by Seungri’s Bunrning Sun Gate, lined up in the rain to protest in front of the Blue House
More than 1700 women, depsite the rain and the scorching heat, stood in front of the Blue House to protest against the investigation result of the court and police regarding Seungri’s Bunrning Sun Gate.
According to Edaily, News1, Womannews and many more Korean media outlets, more than 1700 women, dressed in black, stood in front of the Blue House to protest on May 19th depsite the harsh weather condition. As they said, almost 200 people there want to criticize the investigation process of the police and the unjust punishment regarding Seungri and his scandals, especially after the court rejected the registration for an arrest warrant for Seungri on May 14th.
According to Edaily, the crowd are extremely furious: “Seungri is the main character of the Burning Sun Gate. He was the one who said: “I love the Korean law because it is like XX”. People who are at the rally today, said: “In such a law system defined by the sexual assault corporation (Burning Sun), we women are nothing but product and low-level citizens”, “We cannot stand losing our sisters to this injustice”.
In 105 days with more than 152 police officers but the investigation process ended nowhere. In the Burning Sun case, many women is said to have become the victim of sexual assault, rape by using drug, gang rape, illegal sex videos,…in that club, and the police is also suspected of siding with the criminals to cover up their crimes.
From early morning to 2PM in the afternoon, depsite the pouring rain, thousand of protestors still stood in their raincoats, umbrellas in a long line in front of the B;ue House to protest. They are also against the Korean news using news which are better for the criminals instead of delivering the main issue
The organizers of this rally asked the President to take charge and try his best to end this crime, as well as demanding the Parliament to review the laws regarding woman abuse and change the law of preventing sexual violence.
