IU is the first person that comes to mind when a KPOP fan think of a solo female singer. IU has established herself as an unrivaled solo artist, breaking the formula that it is difficult to succeed as a female soloist in an era of idol groups.

As a singer, IU captivated the public with her musical talents such as writing lyrics and composing, her unique voice and vocal skills.

IU’s activities in the entertainment industry were so diverse that she is undeniably an all-rounder entertainer. After participating in dramas “Dream High”, “Producer”, and “Moon Lovers”, she rose to the top as Jang Man-wol in “Hotel Del Luna” in 2019.

It was reported that IU participated in JYP’s auditions in the past and surprisingly failed. However, she did not give up on her dream to become a singer and knocked on the doors of various agencies, finally debuted at EDAM Entertainment and has been doing well until now.

Park Jin-young, the head of JYP, regretted failing IU. In fact, he said, “I regret it,” adding, “Who dared to fail IU?” and said he would find that staff.

EXID’s Hani

Hani, the member who saved EXID’s career with her “Up And Down fancam,” has also been a trainee at JYP in the past, along with SISTAR’s Hyolyn, Secret’s Song Ji-eun, and Bestie’s Yuji. However, she was eliminated from the company after about a year and eventually debuted at another agency.

EXID did not get much response at the beginning of its debut, so the members even thought of “disbanding.” Thanks to Hani’s fancam, the group received recognition and climbed up the charts.

At the moment, after moving to another agency, Hani is currently working as actress Ahn Hee-yeon. She played Ju-young, a runaway teenager, in the movie Young Adult Matters, released in 2021, and received good reviews for her performance.
