1. Hunting Dogs
‘Hunting Dogs’ is the story of three young men who set foot in the world of private loan business in pursuit of money and get caught up in a huge force. It is based on the original Naver webtoon of the same name, and directed by Kim Joo-hwan of ‘Midnight Runners‘.
Geon-woo, played by Woo Do-hwan, is a promising boxing player. To pay off his mother’s debt, he meets Choi, a loan shark, and begins a new life as a bodyguard. Lee Sang-yi takes on the role of Woo-jin, a former boxer who works with Geon-woo.
2. The Sound of Magic
‘The Sound of Magic‘ is a drama based on the webtoon ‘Anna Sumanara‘ serialized in 2010 by writer Ha Il-kwon. It is a musical drama about the meeting between a girl, Yoon Ah-yi, who wants to become an adult too early, and Lee Eul, a magician who wants to remain a child even after becoming an adult. Ji Chang-wook plays Lee Eul, and Choi Sung-eun was cast as Yoon Ah-yi.
3. The Accidental Narco
‘The Accidental Narco‘ depicts the story of a civilian businessman who has no choice but to cooperate with the secret operation of the National Intelligence Service to arrest a Korean drug lord who has taken control of Suriname, a country in South America.
The drama is based on a true story and will be directed by director Yoon Jong-bin, who directed ‘Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time’, ‘Kundo: Age of the Rampant ’ and ‘The Spy Gone North’. The cast includes Ha Jung-woo, Hwang Jung-min, Park Hae-soo, Jo Woo-jin, and Yoo Yeon-seok.
4. Model Family
‘Model Family‘, starring Jung-woo, Park Hee-soon, Yoon Jin-seo, and Park Ji-yeon, tells the story of an ordinary father who is on the brink of bankruptcy and divorce, who accidentally finds a car with a lot of money and gets entangled with the second-in-command of a drug gang.
5. 20th Century Girl
Netflix’s next original film ‘20th Century Girl‘ is also coming out this year. It is a romantic story about a painful but exciting first love of a 17-year-old girl, Bora (Kim Yoo-jung), whose friendship precedes love in 1999, the late 20th century.
6. Korean remake of ‘Money Heist’
‘Money Heist‘ is a Spanish series streaming on Netflix, about a genius called The Professor gathering eight criminals to rob the Spanish Mint and the Central Bank.
Yoo Ji-tae was cast as Professor of the robbery team. Berlin, who is the leader of the eight robbers, is played by Park Hae-soo.
7. Remarriage & Desires
‘Remarriage & Desires‘ is a realistic satire depicting the desires of those who dream of entering high society through marriage or remarriage.
Kim Hee-sun will play Seo Hye-seung, who lives as a middle-class housewife in Gangnam and loses everything in an instant.
