This lucky guy will shares a house with Suzy after she retires from the entertainment industry in new drama “Doona!”

Netflix recently confirmed the production of the new series “Doona!” and announced the casting of Suzy and Yang Se Jong. 

Netflix series “Doona!” is a romance series that tells the story of ordinary college student Won Jun meeting Doo Na, who retired after leaving the glamorous K-POP idol days, in a sharehouse.

The original Naver webtoon “The Girl Downstairs” by Min Song Ah, who made her name known to the public through the webtoon “Nano List”, aroused keen attention as it delicate emotional portrayal of a dream-like campus romance between a former idol and a college students after becoming housemates.

In “Doona!”, Suzy and Yang Se Jong will be playing Lee Doo Na and Lee Won Joon, respectively. Suzy’s character Lee Doo Na, known as the main vocalist and center of a famous idol group, suddenly announces her retirement and moves into a sharehouse for college students. 

Thanks to her high synchronization with the character Doo Na, who used to be an idol and boasts unrivaled beauty, Suzy was mentioned in the virtual casting for the original work. With her stable acting skills that have been recognized through various dramas “Anna”, “Start-up”, “Uncontrollably Fond”, and movie “Architecture 101”, Suzy raised high expectations for her performance when portraying the complex emotional lines of Doo Na.

Lee Doo Na’s partner Lee Won Jun will be played by Yang Se Jong, who proved his wide acting spectrum in various series, such as “Temperature of Love”, “Thirty But Seventeen”, “My Country”, etc.

As Yang Se Jong has impressed many viewers with the way he presented a new image every time he acted a new character with his solid acting skills, he is expected to once again show off his unique charm through his performance as Won Jun, an ordinary college student with nothing except for a warm and innocent heart who will become a resting place for Doo Na.

“Doona!” will be directed by Lee Jeong Hyo, who was behind the success of “Crash Landing on You”, “Romance Is a Bonus Book”, “Life on Mars”, and “The Good Wife”. Lee Jeong Hyo, who is considered a “trust and watch” director, plans to let viewers around the world feel the unfamiliar excitement of the love between those in their early 20s. 

“Doona!” will be released on Netflix.
