Only Leung Chiu Wai? There were also IU, Park Eun-bin and Park Hye-soo… BIFF’s hottest stars

The 27th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), which opened on Oct 5th, passed the halfway point.

This year’s film festival, which was held normally 3 years after the pandemic, drew much attention from the beginning with the attendance of Hong Kong star Leung Chiu Wai. However, Leung Chiu Wai was not the only one at this year’s BIFF. IU (Lee Ji-eun) and Park Eun-bin visited Busan to make the scene more exciting. Park Hye-soo also went to an official event after a long time and directly expressed her position on her suspicions.

◇ “Actress” Lee Ji-eun visited Busan for the first time

One-top solo singer IU (Lee Ji-eun), who made her commercial film debut with the movie “Broker” (director Hirokazu Kore-eda), visited Busan for the first time this time. It’s all thanks to “Broker” starring her. “Broker” revolves around characters associated with baby boxes, which allow infants to be dropped off anonymously to be cared for by others. Lee Ji-eun played the role of So-young, a mother who decides to leave her baby at the baby box.

At the open talk of “Broker” held on Oct 8th, Lee Ji-eun smilingly said, “A chick who debuted at the film festival two days ago.” She then expressed her feelings about visiting Busan, “It’s a new and enjoyable schedule for me to get this open talk opportunity and to be able to talk about my movie in an open space with many audiences from noon.” Regarding her plans as an actress, she confessed, “Actually, I think my first start was very good. I want to act with a firm heart so that it doesn’t remain as a beginner’s luck.”

In particular, fans lined up at the outdoor stage of Busan Cinema Center from early in the morning to see Lee Ji-eun as close as possible. Afterwards, fans welcomed actors with tremendous shouts as they went on stage, and Lee Ji-eun responded by waving to fans.

◇ “Woo Young-woo” Park Eun-bin is hot in Busan, too

Park Eun-bin visited Busan with a drama, not a movie. This is because “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” starring her, which gained syndrome-level popularity this year, was nominated for the Best Content category at the Asia Contents Awards 2022 (ACA 2022), and she herself was nominated for the Best Actress award.

On the 8th, at the ACA 2022 held at the outdoor theater of the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu, Busan, Park Eun-bin appeared amid loud cheers. Here, Park Eun-bin showed off her beautiful figure in her one-shoulder dress, while greeting the audiences with her hand and posing for them, driving enthusiasm to the maximum.

On the same day, Park Eun-bin was awarded with the Best Actress trophy, and said, “I received the award thanks to ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’. I came here with Yoo In-sik, not alone, so I felt new to be able to attend the Asian Content Awards with the drama’s team, who made the beautiful world of ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo.”

The time I spent doing ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ was special for me, and I was fortunate to be able to capture Woo Young-woo well. I sincerely thank Korean viewers and audiences all over the world for sharing that special moment and great love with me,” the actress added, with tears in her eyes.

Park Hye-soo gave speech in Busan

Park Hye-soo, who finally appeared for the first time in 2 years due to school bullying accusations earlier last year, has definitely become a hot topic at the BIFF. Playing the lead role in the movie “You and I” (director Cho Hyun-cheol), Park Hye-soo attended the “You and I” GV event held at the Standard Screening Room of the Film Promotion Committee on the afternoon of October 9th and spoke directly about the suspicion of school violence surrounding her.

Park Hye-soo entered the movie theater with a somewhat rigid expression, but after that, she applauded and smiled as she talked about the movie. She appeared with long straight hair in a neat one-piece dress, saying, “Hello, I’m Park Hye-soo. It’s been a long time since I’ve greeted you.”

He also immediately made a statement regarding her alleged sexual assault, explaining frankly, “Maybe there are people who are curious about my situation, so let me tell you, I am not avoiding the situation, I am facing the situation and trying my best to solve it. I will do my best to give you that.”

“I’m really grateful for coming here. I’m very grateful to the director, staff, and actors. Thank you,” she added. The audience responded with applause and delivered a message of support to Park Hye-soo.
