NewJeans’ Parents Refused to Meet HYBE due to “Insincere Response”

HYBE has requested a meeting with the parents of NewJeans members amid the ADOR-HYBE feud, but was denied.

According to a recent report from Korean media outlet DongA, the ongoing feud between ADOR and HYBE is not simply the actions of Min Hee-jin, who previously mentioned that the source of the problem is HYBE and Belift Lab copying NewJeans in their latest girl group, ILLIT.

In particular, DongA claimed that after the NewJeans ILLIT copying issue arose in March, the parents of NewJeans members first raised the issue with NewJeans’ agency ADOR and started discussions with HYBE.

Accordingly, on the 3rd of this month, ADOR sent a letter detailing the problem and requesting correction to HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk and CEO Park.

In response, HYBE reportedly requested ADOR to set up a meeting with the parents of NewJeans members. However, it has been reported that the parents felt that HYBE’s response was insincere and rejected this request.

It is believed that after this process, HYBE took initiative to begin an audit against ADOR on April 22.
