K-netizens React To HYBE’s NFT Business Apologizing For Stealing SM Group RIIZE’s Portraits

Amid its internal conflict, the NFT company set up by HYBE and Dunamu was revealed to have stolen RIIZE photos

A netizen shared in theqoo an article about HYBE and Dunamu’s joint company MOMENTICA apologizing for stealing the portraits of SM Entertainment’s boy group RIIZE, arousing keen attention.

Momentica

According to the article, MOMENTICA, a digital photocard exchange platform operated by the NFT company jointly created by HYBE and Dunamu, released an apology after they were caught stealing portraits of singers from another company without prior consultation and consent. MOMENTICA said, “We received a report from SM about using RIIZE portraits without SM’s consent in a promotional post”, adding “We would like to apologize to SM and fans who have waited to use the service for our lack of review and consultation in advance.”

It is known that MOMENTICA has been focusing on HYBE artists such as SEVENTEEN, LE SSERAFIM, Enhypen, etc. while RIIZE is a group from SM Entertainment, not HYBE. SM also confirmed that they did not discuss any service or promotional post in collaboration with MOMENTICA.

In response to the news, other netizens commented,

– Why did they do that to RIIZE? Seriouslyㅠㅠ

– What’s wrong with HYBE recently?

– From a big corporation, HYBE has been a mess within the past few days;; Isn’t HYBE a company that prioritizes portrait rights? This is crime

– Please leave RIIZE alone

– What’s wrong with them?ㅋㅋㅋㅋWhy are they trying to do business with kids from another company? It’s so funny that they got caught in the back of the head

– Min Hee-jin is not the only problem, everything in that company is problematicㅋㅋㅋ So ridiculous. Despite being in the same industry, they have no sense of copyrights at all. What a terrible company

– Aren’t they crazy? Isn’t HYBE a gangster?
