The newly released K-drama “Woori the Virgin” led by Im Soo Hyang premiered to good ratings.
SBS’s new Mon-Tue drama “Woori the Virgin” had its first broadcast on May 9th and recorded an average nationwide viewership rating of 4.1% and a real-time high of 6.6%, according to Nielsen Korea.
In episode 1, after 2 years of undergoing chemotherapy, Raphael (Sung Hoon) recovered his health and showed up in a fancy sports car. Raphael handed his wife Lee Ma Ri (Hong Ji Yoon) an application to confirm his intention to divorce.
Raphael told his father (Joo Jin Mo), “You know, my sperm. I only have one chance to have a baby. There is someone whom I’m connected to by a string of fate. No matter how much I think about it, she’s not Ma Ri,” explaining why he decided to divorce.
Meanwhile, Oh Woo Ri (Im Soo Hyang), who has kept her promise of not losing her virginity before marriage, became pregnant with Raphael’s child due to an unexpected medical accident.
Woo Ri went to see her OB-GYN for a checkup, and the accident occurred when the doctor mistook her for Lee Ma Ri and got her artificially inseminated using Raphael’s sperm.
At the end of episode 1, Woo Ri’s boyfriend Lee Kang Jae (Shin Dong Wook), who thought that Woo Ri’s pregnancy was a misdiagnosis, prepared a grand proposal. When Lee Kang Jae popped the question, Woo Ri was embarrassed and told him, “Oppa, I’m pregnant.”
Expectations are rising for how the drama will unfold in the future. “Woori the Virgin” is broadcast every Monday and Tuesday at 10 PM KST.
