Suga, a member of the group BTS, released a photo of himself in hanbok despite Korea-China’s sensitive time.
Suga posted a photo on his Instagram on February 8th with the caption, “D.”
The photo shows Suga wearing a traditional King gown for the MV of his solo song “Daechwita.” In particular, even though “Daechwita” was promoted in May 2020, the idol decided to post a picture of himself in hanbok two years later.
This raises questions in line with the controversy over the opening ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, which was broadcast live on February 4th. In this event, a girl wearing clothes that looked like hanbok appeared to represent a minority ethnic group of China.
Meanwhile, Suga‘s solo song “Daechwita” has achieved 340 million views on YouTube as of February 8th (Korea Standard Time).
