G-Dragon’s story of sending his condolences to the victims of the Itaewon disaster receives criticism from some netizens.
BIGBANG’s G-Dragon recently updated his Instagram story to express his condolences to the families of the victims in the Itaewon crowd crushing accident. He posted a message that reads, “Praying for Itaewon…October 29, 2022”.
However, this story soon sparked mixed reactions as G-Dragon used a picture of a daisy losing a petal, the signature symbol of his own brand peaceminusone.
Some netizens started criticizing G-Dragon for being “insensitive” and “thoughtless” by including his brand image in a post about the heartbreaking incident.
Netizens left comments, “Looks like he’s using a tragedy to promote his brand”, “Does he really have to use his brand design?”, “People died and he thinks this is some kind of art?”, “I guess he thought people’s death is just another chance to show off his identity”, “What does a daisy have to do with Itaewon?”.
On the contrary, there are also many comments that find G-Dragon’s post harmless, such as, “I really don’t see a problem with G-Dragon’s story”, “What’s wrong with that?”, “Seriously, I don’t have any problem with this”, “It’s just people are being too sensitive at the moment”, “Just ignore him”…
