SM’s albums record nearly 18 million copies sold in 2021

SM Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as SM)’s total album sales in 2021 exceeded 17.62 million copies.

Based on a solid artist lineup, SM‘s 25 albums released in 2021 sold 15,043,000 copies, and the old albums also recorded 2,578,000 copies. As such, their album sales reached a total of 17,621,000 copies (as of Dec 31st). This is a figure that has doubled compared to the previous year. SM, which has continuously produced global K-pop stars over the past 26 years, once again proved their content power and artists’ status.

In 2021, SM supported various activities of artists from group, unit to solo, including Super Junior, SHINee, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WayV, aespa, U-Know Yunho, Super Junior-D&E, Yesung, Key, Taemin, Baekhyun, D.O., Kai, Wendy, Joy. Each album has been loved by fans around the world.

Albums from NCT 127 and NCT DREAM, which became triple million sellers, along with EXO, Baekhyun and NCT surpassed 1 million copies. Besides, as many as 25 albums entered the Gaon annual chart top 100, confirming SM’s overwhelming album power.
