2015 was the golden year of Korean dramas with the release of high-rated series such as Oh My Ghost, Yong Pal, She Was Pretty, Healer and Kill Me, Heal Me. One of the best shows that came out in 2015 is Who Are You: School 2015, the sixth part of KBS’s series School starring Kim So Hyun, Nam Joo Hyuk, Yook Sung Jae. Let’s find out about the current whereabouts of these talented young actors 7 years after their appearance in School.
Kim So Hyun
In School 2015, former child star Kim So Hyun plays a dual role of twin sisters Go Eun Bi and Go Eun Byul. Excellently portraying two contrasting personalities, Kim So Hyun impressed the audience with her acting talent. This is also considered Kim So Hyun’s first breakout role as an adult actress.
Kim So Hyun‘s acting career is growing year by year thanks to her hard work. In 2016, Kim So Hyun played a wandering ghost of a high school student alongside Ok TaecYeon in Let’s Fight Ghost. In 2017, she joined Yoo Seung Ho to star as leads in The Emperor: Owner Of The Mask. In 2019, she had successful comebacks in two well-received dramas, Netflix’s Love Alarm and KBS2’s The Tale of Nokdu.
Kim So Hyun’s latest drama River Where The Moon Rises also achieved a good response from the audience and showed her major transformation of onscreen image. Although the drama faced lots of difficulties due to the replacement of former male lead Jisoo midway through its broadcast, Kim So Hyun still did a great job creating natural chemistry with Na In Woo. For her portrayal of Princess Pyeonggang in River Where The Moon Rises, Kim So Hyun received a nomination for Best Actress – Television at the 2022 Baeksang Arts Awards.
Nam Joo Hyuk
Nam Joo Hyuk, who played swimmer Han Yi An of Who Are You: School 2015 has achieved much success in his acting career over the past 7 years. Although his acting skills still come under mixed reactions at times, in every new role, Nam Joo Hyuk always manages to show his charm.
Since School 2015, Nam Joo Hyuk has been working really hard and participated in nearly 10 more projects both in cinema and on TV. His most successful productions after School are Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo where he co-stars ex-girlfriend Lee Sung Kyung, The Light in Your Eyes alongside senior Han Ji Min, Start Up 2020 alongside Suzy, and the ongoing drama Twenty Five, Twenty One with Kim Tae Ri. Nam Joo Hyuk has consistently made it into the top of the most buzzworthy drama actors lately thanks to the impact of Twenty Five, Twenty One.
Yook Sung Jae
The rebellious second male lead Gong Tae Kwang receiving even more support than the male lead in School 2015 proves how successful Yook Sung Jae’s portrayal is. In real life, the idol-turned actor is not as active in acting as Nam Joo Hyuk, but his acting skills are highly appreciated.
In 2016, Yook Sung Jae successfully resonated and attracted a large number of fans thanks to his role as the nephew of Goblin Kim Shin in the hit drama Goblin.
Although he only took on a supporting role, Yook Sung Jae took on two roles at the same time, both as the childish chaebol, and an absolute god governing the destiny of all species. The acting changes between the two characters are very realistic and left a deep impression in viewers’ hearts. In 2020, he took on the lead role in Mystic Pop-Up Bar, co-starring Hwang Jung Eum before enlisting in the army. In addition, he is familiar with the public through BTOB’s promotions and many entertainment programs.
