“Queendom 2” is facing a dangerous start as LOONA announced their absence from the First Round recording

Girl group LOONA will be absent from the first recording of “Queendom 2”.

LOONA’s agency Blockberry Creative said on February 28th, “LOONA members Ha-seul, Yeo-jin, and ViVi have been confirmed ‘positive’ to Covid-19”.

The agency continued, “As a result of the self-diagnosis kit test conducted on Feb 25th before their schedule, some members were tested positive and transferred to the hospital. Rapid antigen test and PCR test were conducted according to the hospital guidance”, adding, “Ha-seul, Yeo-jin, and ViVi were confirmed to have been infected on Feb 26th”.

According to the agency, Yeojin already completed her 3rd dose of Covid-19 vaccination, while both Ha-seul and ViVi completed their 2nd dose, but they were infected due to a breakthrough infection. Other members also developed symptoms while waiting for the result of the PCR test.

The agency said, “Three members have suspended all schedules and are keeping their stability as well as taking necessary measures following the guidelines of the quarantine authorities”, adding, “Other members were tested ‘negative’ in the rapid antigen test preemptively conducted on Feb 25th. However, considering the incubation period, we conducted the self-diagnosis kit test once a day. Some members, who were tested ‘positive’ on Feb 27th, already took rapid antigen and PCR tests and are waiting for the results”.

“Therefore, LOONA will not attend the first round of Mnet’s ‘Queendom 2’, which was scheduled to be held today (Feb 28th) and we ask for your understanding”.

Hyolyn, Brave Girls, VIVIZ, WJSN, Kep1er and LOONA were set to record the first competition of Mnet’s entertainment program “Queendom 2” on February 28th. Unfortunately, LOONA ended up being absent.

“Hello, this is Blockberry Creative.

We are informing you that LOONA members Haseul, Yeojin, and ViVi have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

As a result of the self-diagnosis kit test conducted ahead of schedule on the 25th, some of the members tested positive, so LOONA went to the hospital and underwent rapid antigen test and PCR test according to the hospital instructions. On February 26, Haseul, Yeojin, and ViVi’s test results came back positive.

Yeojin has previously received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, while Haseul and ViVi have each received two doses of the vaccine. The three members are currently suspending all schedules, and are taking necessary measures and stability according to the guidelines of the quarantine authorities.

The remaining members underwent rapid antigen tests on February 25 as a precautionary measure, and they all tested negative but taking the incubation period into consideration, the self-diagnosis kit test was conducted once a day. We are conducting rapid antigen tests and PCR tests and awaiting the results.

Accordingly, LOONA will not be participating in the Round 1 competition performances of Mnet’s “Queendom 2” that were scheduled to take place today (February 28), and we ask for your understanding.

We apologize for causing concern to fans and other related parties, and we will do our best for the health and safety of our artists.

Thank you.”
