NewJeans Fans Said HYBE Sent a Protest Truck to Itself for Media Play

Korean fans of NewJeans are accusing HYBE of using their names to hire a protest truck against Min Hee-jin for media play.

On the morning of April 24, a protest truck appeared in front of HYBE’s Yongsan building, displaying messages such as Min Hee-jin, stop dragging in other artists”, “Min Hee-jin, stop using NewJeans and their families”, and “We support NewJeans’ activities under HYBE”.

Judging from the messages, it was speculated that NewJeans’ fandom was behind the protest truck. However, the Korean fans themselves are saying otherwise.

In particular, the truck seems to have come out of nowhere, with no fan groups nor individual fans claiming responsibility over them. This is extremely peculiar, as normally the ones behind a protest truck would immediately release a statement announcing their purposes.

As a result, many Korean Bunnies (fans of NewJeans), are suspecting that the truck was never sent by fans, but from…. HYBE itself.

“Why would we send a truck?”, a fan said on SNS platform X, adding, “They are really sneaky, trying to create buzz to make it sound like Bunnies are supporting them.”

Additionally, fans discovered that the first and original source of the protest truck photos came from a news article from media outlet Aju News – written by reporter Lee Gun-hee. It is known that Lee Gun-hee often writes articles in HYBE’s favor, leading to suspicions that HYBE sent the protest truck to itself, hired a reporter, and attempted to “media play” to make people believe that NewJeans fans are actually angry.
