In the 2nd episode of tvN’s weekend drama “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938”, which was aired on May 7th, the former “West Mountain God” Ryu Hong Joo (played by Kim So Yeon), who had been watching Lee Yeon (Lee Dong Wook) for centuries, finally meets him.

In the past, Lee Yeon fell and needed to return to the future, so he set out to find the Manpasikjeok (a mythical flute) on the train. He found it with Lee Rang (Kim Bum), but the item was in Ryu Hong Joo’s possession.

Ryu Hong Joo took the Manpasikjeok while fighting a Japanese monster. When the monster said, “This belongs to the Japanese Empire”, Ryu Hong Joo replied, “No, it’s mine”, and defeated the monster with an innocent expression.

After meeting Lee Yeon, Ryu Hong Joo greeted him with “Long time no see, fox”, and Lee Yeon was shocked. Ryu Hong Joo then touched Lee Yeon and asked, “Still can’t forget that human woman?“, to which he responded angrily, “Get your hands off my thigh”.

When Lee Rang asked, “Friend or foe?” Ryu Hong Joo replied, “Your sister-in-law to be”. She also pestered Lee Yeon, saying, “Stop playing hard to get and live with me”. She then proceeded to hand him the Manpasikjeok, saying, “I came to find this“.

As he received the Manpasikjeok, Lee Yeon rejected Ryu Hong Joo’s marriage proposal, saying, “Marriage requires the consent of both parties”. Ryu Hong Joo immediately slapped him in the face, and said, “Who are you to reject me? I bought a dress and got my hair done for today, and you’ve humiliated me”. However, she remains obsessed with Lee Yeon and continued to cling to him.

After the broadcast, Kim So Yeon’s acting became a hot topic and received attention on various social media platforms and online communities. Netizens reacted with comments like, “Her acting is really good”, “She’s saving it all”, “Kim So Yeon is cute”, “It’s a perfect fit”, and “She’s pretty and so good”.
