IVE received Daesang and Rookie Award together, a day before their 1st debut anniversary

Girl group IVE shed tears and expressed their gratitude as they were named the winner for both “Song of the Year” and “Best New Female Artist” at the 2022 MAMA.

On the afternoon of November 30th, IVE was named as the winner for both “Song of the Year” (Daesang) and “Best New Female Artist” (Rookie Award) at the 2022 MAMA Awards, which was held at Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japah.

Upon receiving their awards, the group’s leader, Ahn Yujin said, “IVE won both ‘Best New Female Artist’ and ‘Song of the Year’ today, First of all, it’s already a great honor for us to be able to stand on such a huge stage. Now, having won so many valuable awards today, it is even more meaningful.”

Then, she called each staff member by name, adding, “As its name suggests, Song of the Year is a really cool award given to us, but our staff, who are at the backstage with us all worked really hard till this song came out. So, even though this may take a while, we’d like to thank them individually.”

She then continued, “And more than anything else, our DIVE, thank you so so much. And to our members, it’s really a great honor for me to be able to be the leader of such a cool team.

Meanwhile, IVE’s youngest member Leeseo shed tears during her speech, saying, “It’s already a great honor to be able to stand on MAMA’s stage, but thank you so much to DIVE for allowing us to win Song of the Year and Best New Female Artist as well. We’ll do better in the future, fighting!”

In addition, Gaeul also got emotional and expressed, “It’s gonna be our 1st debut anniversary tomorrow. Thank you so much for giving us such cool awards as presents for our first anniversary. We’ll become an IVE who work harder to show you better images. Thank you.”

Japanese member Rei also delivered a tearful speech and said, “Thank you so much, DIVE. I am really grateful to our members and family as well. It’s our first anniversary tomorrow. I’m really happy to be able to stand on such a special stage in Japan. Again, thank you so so much.”

Next, Liz took the mic and said, “DIVE, even though we can never thank you enough, I’d still like to show our great gratitude.” She also thanked family and Kpop fans and showed her love to them.
