Ahn Jae-hyun revealed the reason for his debut as a writer and introduced the books that inspired him
Actor Ahn Jae-hyun explained why he became an essay writer.
In an interview with Rolling Stone Korea released on Youtube on September 26th, Ahn Jae-hyun talked about the reason he published the essay book “List of Things to Remember”.
In the video, he shared, “I hope those of you who read this book can get comfort from it”, adding “After debuting as a writer, I got ten copies for the first edition of my book through the mail. And as I ripped off the wrapping paper, I felt like going back to my childhood and getting gifts on Christmas eve.”
Ahn Jae-hyun also introduced the book “Self-Reliance” by Ralph Waldo Emerson and “Musoyou” by Bopjong.
He said, “‘Self-Reliance’ is the book which I always carry in my audition and read while taking a bus or subway”.
He continued, “The book that comes up in my mind these days is ‘Musoyou’ by Bopjong. When a person can’t own something, he either has to give up on it or own it. He has to try between them. However, ‘Musoyou’ suggests a way that enables both of them. It impressed me by teaching how to try to own something and empty my mind at the same time.”
