A netizen found out that not only the phone number but the bank account in “Squid Game” is also a real one

Netflix’s drama “Squid Game” (directed by Hwang Dong Hyuk) has once again caused controversies over personal information exposure.

While “Squid Game” continues to maintain its No.1 spot on the U.S Netflix’s “Top 10 of the day” for four consecutive weeks, more suspicions related to the bank account number in the drama have been raised.

On September 26, a post was uploaded on an online community titled, “The owner of Squid Game’s 45.6-billion-won bank account”.

The author of this post claimed, “The bank account number in Squid Game actually exists in real life”. This person attached a photo of him sending 1 won to this account to the post. This netizen continued, “The card account that the last survivor of Squid Game receives is actually a real bank account. Is the owner of this account a staff member of the ‘Squid Game’ production team?”

Earlier, “Squid Game” was involved in a controversy over exposing personal mobile phone numbers. It was said that the phone number used in the drama has an owner in real life. The victim of phone number exposure complained, “I have been using this number for over 10 years. My life has been difficult since I received thousands of phone calls and text messages every day.”

Regarding this incident, Netflix responded, “We are aware of the problem and are trying to solve it.”
