2023 BIFF Actors House confirms lineup with Song Joong Ki, Han Hyo Joo, Youn Yuh Jung and John Cho

The 28th Busan International Film Festival revealed this year’s lineup of the event program “Actors House”

Introduced in 2021, Busan International Film Festival (BIFF)’s Actors House is a special talk program in which contemporary actors look back on their filmography and give honest talks about themselves, from unreleased behind-the-scenes stories to future plans.

Yoon Yeo-jeong - John Jo

First of all, actress Youn Yuh Jung, the first Korean actress to win Best Supporting Actress at the 93rd Academy Awards with her performance in “Minari” (2020), will visit Actors House. After portraying the life of Sunja in “Pachinko” (2022), Youn Yuh Jung unveiled her warm real-life appearance through tvN’s entertainment program “Unexpected Journey”.

Those whose works have been invited to Today’s Korean Film – Special Premiere also appear in Actors House lineup. Actress Han Hyo Joo, who is about to return with “Believer 2” (2023), has been receiving steady love for her diverse acting genres in “Beauty Inside” (2015), “W” (2016), “Happiness” (2021), “The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure” (2022), etc. She recently drew favorable reviews for her passionate romance and action acting in Disney Plus’s original series “Moving” (2023) as Lee Mi Hyun, who has five senses superpower.

Song Jong-ki - Han Hyo-joo

Hosting the opening ceremony of the 26th BIFF, Song Joong Ki will visit Busan again after two years with the movie “Hopeless” (2023). In particular, “Hopeless” was invited to the 76th Cannes Film Festival and received explosive responses for Song Joong Ki’s powerful acting transformation as Chi Geon the second-in-command boss of an organization. Having played unique characters in several popular projects, such as “Space Sweepers” (2021), “Vincenzo” (2021), and “Reborn Rich” (2022), the actor is expected to showcase new charms through “Hopeless”.

Korean-American actor and writer John Cho, who was invited to this year’s special program, will also greet the audience through Actors House. Known as one of the first Korean-American actors to star in Hollywood dramas and movies, John Cho also published an autobiographical novel called “Troublemaker” last year. As such, fans will be able to hear more stories about John Cho’s acting career and his growth story that spreads good influence through Actors House.

All profits from Actors House will be donated to Save the Children, an international nonprofit organization that provides relief and support to children. Detailed reservation methods will be announced on the website of the Busan International Film Festival.
