The cast of “Twenty Five, Twenty One” after 2 years: Kim Tae Ri to star in new project, Bona becomes a princess

Two years has passed since the huge success of “Twenty Five, Twenty One”, so how are the major cast members doing?

The first half of 2022 was filled with great K-dramas, and “Twenty Five, Twenty One” is among the most popular. As this coming-age-story concluded, however, each actor and actress in the series is taking on new ventures.

Kim Tae Ri: battles with So Ji Sub on the large screen, soon starring in new thriller K-drama

With her role in “Twenty Five, Twenty One”, Kim Tae Ri gets to be named as the Best Leading Actress in a Drama series at the prestigious Baeksang. Just 3 months later, she made an appearance in the blockbuster movie “Alienoid”, which features top male stars such as So Ji Sub, Kim Woo Bin, and Ryu Jun Yeol.

In “Alienoid”, Aliens have been locking up their criminals for a long time inside human bodies and humans were unaware of this. However, one particular criminal (So Ji Sub) managed to escape, and tried to take over Earth and turn it into a playground for fellow aliens and to satisfy his cruelty streak.

Here, Kim Tae Ri transforms into the female lead Lee Ahn (Yian), who was born way back in the past, but was brought to the present after a mission of the Guard (Kim Woo Bin). To stop So Ji Sub’s character, they tried to trick him to time-travel, leading to everyone getting stuck in the Goryeo dynasty. The battle continued to go on, but there’s a new party that came into play – a bounty hunter called Muruk (Ryu Jun Yeol).

After her role in “Alienoid”, Kim Tae Ri will show a completely different side in the upcoming SBS’ thriller drama “The Devil”. In this series, she will assume the role of Gu San Young, who is dragged into various mysterious cases after receiving the remains of her father, at the same time transforming into a new “shape”.

On her way to seek for the truth, Gu San Young will work together with Yeon Hae Sang (Oh Sung Jae) – a professor who can see devils, as well as Lee Hong Sae (Hong Kyung) – a high-ranked police officer.

Nam Joo Hyuk faced bullying accusations

Contrary to Kim Tae Ri, Nam Joo Hyuk’s career is not going so smoothly. In particular, just 2 months ago, he was accused of having been a school bully for 6 whole years.

In particular, various anonymous netizens popped up, claiming that Nam Joo Hyuk would force other students to do his bidding, engage in fights, and curse at them. It was not until Dispatch investigated and interviewed 20 former schoolmates and teachers of the actor, who vouched for his innocence, that the allegations finally died down.

As for Nam Joo Hyuk’s upcoming project, the actor will soon make an appearance on the big screen with the thriller movie “Remember”. The film follows Pi Joo, a 80-year-old man with Alzheimer, who lost his family during the Korean-Japanese war. As he will lose all his memory soon, Pi Joo wants revenge, and works with a young man named In Gyu (Nam Joo Hyuk) to set out a cruel plan.

Bona plays the role of a princess in a historical drama

After “Twenty Five Twenty One”, Bona confirmed to participate in a historical project called A Joseon Lawyer. This is a project adapted from the webtoon of the same name, about Kang Han Su (Woo Do Hwan) – an oejibu (attorney in Joseon Dynasty). Han Su’s story begins as an attorney who takes advantage of people’s emotions for his own gain.

However, he was unknowingly hailed as a hero. Also from here, Kang Han Soo self-reflects and gradually understands that the mission of an oejibu is to bring justice to everyone.

Bona will play the female lead, Lee Yeon Joo. She is a princess, yet she is always concerned about national and ethnic issues. Lee Yeon Joo is a kind and compassionate person, but she is also a powerful woman who is not afraid to confront injustices.

Since Lee Yeon Joo handed a lawsuit to Kang Han Soo, the two have been inextricably linked. She approached him under a false identity, and it was all part of this princess’s sophisticated revenge plan. Lee Yeon Joo, on the other hand, is unaware that Kang Han Soo is also covertly planning to make those who have destroyed his family pay the consequences.

Kang Han Soo and Lee Yeon Joo gradually fell in love with each other. However, will waiting for them be a sad ending or full happiness?

Choi Hyun Wook continues to play a schoolboy in his new drama

As for Choi Hyun Wook, he continued to play the role of a male student in the drama “Weak Hero”. The drama is about Yeon Shi Eun, a weak-looking student who is easily bullied. However, he possesses an impressively high IQ. Thanks to his intelligence, he fought off bullies.

The character Yeon Shi Eun will be played by Park Ji Hoon, while Choi Hyun Wook will play Ahn Soo Ho – Shi Eun’s close friend. Ahn Soo Ho is an honest and generous person but is not interested in studying. However, he still tries to graduate in order to keep his promise to his grandmother.

Choi Hyun Wook’s character Ahn Soo Ho has the skill to fight, according to the movie version’s trailer. As a result, he will definitely provide the audience with exciting action scenes.
