Wendy of Red Velvet is set to join Mnet’s “Build Up: Vocal Boy Group Survival” as a judge
According to EDaily on December 6, Red Velvet’s Wendy has been selected as a judge for the upcoming Mnet program “Build Up.”
“Build Up” is a program that depicts the process in which vocalists with outstanding skills, regardless of genre, compete to be selected as members of a vocal boy group. “Current and former idol group main vocalists, along with renowned vocal powerhouses, will engage in fierce competition”, Mnet stated when describing the new program.
Meanwhile, Wendy debuted as the main vocal of girl group Red Velvet in 2014, and released her first solo album, “Like Water” in 2021, showcasing exceptional vocal ability and her unique musical style.
Wendy has also consistently pursued musical theater activities and recently met audiences through the musical “Rebecca”.
“Build Up” is the first time Wendy becomes a judge on a music survival program, raising high expectations. The show is scheduled to begin broadcasting in the first half of 2023, with actress Lee Da-hee, who previously hosted Mnet’s “Queendom” and “Road to Kingdom” serving as the MC.
