BIBI Explains Why She Threw Condoms During US Performance, “It’s Important To Be Wild And Affectionate”
Singer BIBI met with entertainer Shin Dong-yeop and talked about the hot performance where she threw condoms
On April 29th, singer BIBI appeared on Shin Dong-yeop’s YouTube channel “Zzanbro”
Shin Dong-yeop asked BIBI, “Your image is quite different from other singers in Korea. Have you ever thought you shouldn’t be like that?”. In response, BIBI said, “Before I started singing, I had big desire and I decided to make a lot of money. That’s why I wanted to show people everything and I seemed to have relied on my image a lot in the beginning. A little aggressively. Because I had to find a blue ocean, and I wouldn’t survive if I did the same thing. I couldn’t let myself be like that”.
Regarding the reason she released “Bam Yang Gang”, she said, “I wondered, ‘Do I have anything left after using up all my energy and image?’. I couldn’t breathe and thought, ‘What should I do? What should I eat now? Am I going to starve to death?’. Back then, I wandered around for a while but then I realized, ‘Let’s not overthink’. I realized that I must return to a simple style one day. The tomboy style has become very popular and there are also many powerful songs, so love songs once again become a blue ocean. I have the feeling that the timing is right. The flow is romantic now”.
Jung Ho-cheol honestly commented, “I thought you are a strong person because I saw you throw condoms at a concert”. Earlier, BIBI made headlines when she threw condoms at the audience during a performance in the US.
In this regard, BIBI shared, “It’s a little wild and excessive to do so in Korea, but isn’t it a warm and family-like thing to do? Mom and Dad are my family, they are warm but they’re also wild when they need it. I was not born in a test tube, I’m a ‘honeymoon’ baby”, adding “I think it’s important to be wild and affectionate. How wonderful it is to have both?”.
Shin Dong-yeop agreed. He said, “It’s actually wrong to think throwing condoms is weird. Is there anything wrong with mentioning the word ‘condom’? Never think like that. People need to take it naturally. My son and daughter kept talking about the importance of condoms that even I had to tell them to stop talking about it”.
